BEFORE...
I have a friend in my ward that does hair from her home and Riley desperately needed a trim so I gave her a call. When I told Riley she said she wanted to cut her hair short. She has said this before so I didn't think much of it. Then the day of the cut she was still pretty determined so I told her about the hair donation program and why some kids lose their hair when they are sick. We looked at some pictures and she was excited to be giving her hair to someone who wasn't able to have any of their own. She ended up cutting 9 1/2 inches off. WOW! I'm so proud of this kid! 
Then we had to fake cut Sammie's hair (thanks Jamie). She was a little disappointed to not be going home with a ponytail in her hands but after I told her that she would look like a boy if we cut her hair that short she was okay with it.
