Easter Re-cap

We celebrated Easter too! I'm just a slacker at getting my post done. I've been spending more time HERE on my fitness blog lately. Whoops! So to avoid a picture overload I've tried to just pick out pics to help describe our Easter weekend, but not every second of it.

Saturday Festivities

Because of the snow, Wellsville opted to hold it's Egg hunt (which is really a huge candy scramble) indoors at the fire station. They invited kids in by age group, threw candy all over the floor, and yelled "GO". Tyler easily caught on because he's always trying to get at the good stuff at home.

Riley ditched the basket and was going for the 2-hand scoop method. She came out nicely. I would have made her share but all kids fair well at this hunt. That's why we LOVE it.

Then we loaded up and headed to Paradise to spend the rest of the day at Gpa/Gma Baldwin's. This town is die-hard Easter fans and still held their hunt outside.

This was Ty's field of glory.

It was still fun but the kids were FROZEN when we got done. After we thawed out at Gpa's they had their hunt there where the egg's have quarter's inside. Ka-ching! There's enough grand kids around that we send them in to hunt according to age group as well.

Tyler cashing in with the 2 and under.

The girls lining up for the 3-6 yrs.

Sunday Festivities

Ahhhhh, having Easter morning on conference weekend was SO nice. (On that note, wasn't conference AMAZING?) Last year with all of Brandt's before/after church meetings we had to do some dancing to get the bunny here. This year was MUCH easier on her.

So excited for flip-flops!

New dresses...Riley and her poses. ;)

There were eggs EVERYWHERE. I love Sammie's hair and expression in this pic.

Tyler's idea of a successful hunt...steal the basket with the most eggs in it.

OR

Immediately start eating the goods from his basket.

To top off our morning Dad made his regular pancake feast with an Easter twist. Yum!

After stuffing our faces and taming some hair we went to Gpa Rick and Gma Cindy's. The girls got these cute basket-purses (in which Sam now takes her scriptures to church in) and Tyler got a SUPER superball... always happy with a ball in his hand.

And these next pics are to shock my crafty friends. I know, way simple but I was proud. I usually just buy my decorations but I have a hard time finding Easter one's that I like (not a huge pastel fan) so I took it upon myself to create these. The wreath cost me a total of like $5 and the vase a little less ( I waited until about 2 weeks from Easter to make them so I could buy the eggs at %50 off). This is why I should get more in touch with my inner-craftiness but it SO does not come naturally.

Should I be taking orders? KIDDING! But I was proud of myself. I'd probably still rather go run a few miles than break out the hot glue gun but it's a work in progress.

Whatcha Think?

Is this the right shade? Maybe something a little more subtle?

Sad thing...I was in the next room. Even more sad...Brandt was in the same room. I asked Brandt what Tyler was doing because he was being so quiet and when he turned around this is what he saw.

I'm not sure if he was more dismayed by the mess or by the fact that his son was wearing lipstick.

9 Years!

As of March 10th the hubby and I have been married for 9 years! When I put that into perspective and I think about 9 years before I was married I was only 11 years old. Weird. I'm trying to decide my strategy for making the next 9 years slow down a little. If I come up with a solution, I'll let you know.

We celebrated a little more this year because we figured if we are going to bring another baby into the family it probably will happen sometime next year and who wants to be puking their guts out on there big 10 year Anniversary. So we pretended this was the big 1...0... and celebrated accordingly. Am I the only one that plans her life this way? ;-)
On the day of our actual anniversary these were delivered to my door.

18 of them! (Can you tell Sam took my picture?)

Although I had instructions to only keep 9 and give the rest to the kids. Every year Brandt gives me roses according to the number of years we've been married. So sweet! The thing is, it was cheaper to by 18 then to get just 9. I'm not complaining! And the girls where ecstatic to get roses from Dad.

Then we went away for the weekend for some R & R. We started with dinner at Applebee's which was mostly yummy but I'll avoid the wings in the future. Not my favorite. But the rest of the huge platter I engulfed was great. Of course I had to have a dessert to go along with the million calories I just ate. Especially after our waiter did a dessert temptation dance for us. I thought it was hilarious! Brandt thought he was a big weirdo. Either way it became the theme for the night. Pretty dang funny.

After dinner we caught a flick. I think "Blind Side" just made my top ten movie list. Loved it! Brandt even splurged and bought me a drink. HaHa! Is it sad that I didn't figure it out until a day later that Tim McGraw was the husband? I kept looking for him in the movie but didn't recognize him without his hat and facial hair. I'm slow.

Brandt was in charge of the night's stay and he booked us a room at the Anniversary Inn. Our room theme was "Savannah Nights" and my favorite feature was the turret,a fun enclosed balcony with a little breakfast nook. I think Brandt enjoyed the big screen where we could catch a little March Madness. There was this random gold angel in the bath tub and the shower head came out of it's mouth. Brandt thought it looked like it was smoking a pipe, I thought it looked like it was barfing. We're so romantic. :) Oh, and the cheesecake is always a bonus.

The next day we were going to just head home but when I called my Mom she said the kids had just each rented a movie so we should just stay out for the rest of the day. NICE! We weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves. We ended up enjoying a lunch at Olive Garden and doing a little shopping. Brandt got himself a lovely new set of Deerskin work gloves and I got this book that should be arriving by mail any day now.

Yum!

What a wonderful weekend. I have the best hubby ever and we really enjoyed spending so much time together just between the two of us. It's hard to break away from the duties at home so thank you Mom for becoming a servant to three kids for a while.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Macey's is great. Besides having the best produce and meat department in the valley, I love the people that run the place. Another love are the free classes they offer. In this picture we were taking advantage of the craft/movie/treat day they have once a month for the kids. Riley and Sam got to stay there and decorate a huge heart sugar cookie and color pictures while I got some shopping done with only 1 of 3 kiddos.

This is one of the snapshots I took and while I was editing it in Photoshop I spotted a friend in the back going to work...and not on his craft either.

Ha, Ha, Ha!
